Applies to athletes and performance groups:

During the season in which a student-athlete is participating, all tardies will be counted.  For every 10 tardies accumulated, a student-athlete will have their participation restricted in the subsequent competition/performance. 

There's no longer a system to reduce the tardy count, as in past years.

Athletes (and their coaches) will be notified by the attendance secretary on Mondays if their tardy count has reached 5 or more.  Tardy counts are reset to zero at the start of the postseason, and at the start of every athletic season. 

In order to participate in practice or competition on a particular day, athletes must attend 2 out of 3 classes and Highlander Home, on block schedule days, and 4 out of 6 classes on Early Release days. 

This applies even if the absence is excused. 

During each athletic season there will be two grade checks, as required by WIAA rules. 

If a student-athlete is failing one or more classes on the day of the grade check then the AD will notify the coach, who will then inform the athlete. 

The athlete will have one week to bring all classes up to passing (60%). During that week there aren't any limitations on participation. 

After that week or probation, if an athlete is still failing a class then they are not eligible to participate in games/competitions until all grades are passing. They may continue to practice during this time.
